MEGA_Kids
The nutritional and health status of children and adults living in households at risk of poverty are not well known in Germany. This project aims to assess the nutritional and health status among family members. All over Germany, households with children at risk of poverty will be recruited to determine dietary quality, health status, food security status, spending on food, use of daily school meals, use of charitable food assistance programs and nutritional knowledge including cooking skills. In addition, aspects of existing nutrition-related prevention measures, e.g., access of families at risk-of-poverty and suitability to their needs, will be evaluated. A mixed method approach will be used including both quantitative as well as qualitative data assessments.
